ableYoung is a YA novella by Josh Feldman. All 42 chapters have been published on this site for everyone to read for free. It’s not meant to be great literature, just a fast fun read that deals with some interesting characters and ideas.
The book is about a world that has returned from the brink; a culture without inhibitions; an adventurer who is trying to set things right; and a threat to destroy them all.
If you’re prudish be warned—there are explicit sex scenes. However what ableYoung doesn’t feature is the extreme brutality and ultra-violence that seems so common in media these days. One of my goals was to try and write something exciting and action-packed that didn’t rely on the default setting of amped-up brutality. As an experiment I also tried to put in as little description as possible, we’ll see if that works.
Another interesting little tidbit is that I wrote the book in the cabin Anne Rice used to own and wrote The Queen of the Damned in.
